Legends: Weekly Betting Report for May 16-22, 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello players! Let us see how online betting washed out the week of May 16th to the 22nd with the NBA winding down and getting ready for the July lull. On Monday, we had a dark day in baskets so on to the bases where the players won games with the Cincinnati Reds -65, Florida Marlins -65, Milwaukee Brewers -30, Tampa Bay Devil Rays -50, and against the hapless Minnesota Twins with the Seattle Mariners -163. The house countered with it’s share of MLB game wins with the Saint Louis Cardinals +40, Colorado Rockies +45, and Texas Rangers +27 to win less games but push the day around as a whole.

On Tuesday in the NBA the players correctly tabbed Dallas Mavericks with superstar Dirk Nowitzski and the over to pick up a small win on the books. Pro basketball may have never seen a 7-footer with a shooter’s touch like Nowitzski. In MLB, amidst several rainouts, the players won with Atlanta Braves -70, Colorado Rockies -63, Saint Louis Cardinals -66, Arizona Diamondbacks -54 (Hudson popular with the bettors), and the Chicago White Sox -49 while the house came back with the New York Yankees +45 and a miracle Minnesota Twins win +70 to cut into the players’ accomplishments for the day.

Wednesday on the hardwood there was a split on the NBA action with the Lebron James led Miami Heat beating the Chicago Bulls; no team can turn it on like Miami when they need to and yet at times they are complacent. I guess when you have King James and Dwyane Wade you can afford to “give” away games knowing you can get them back whenever you want. When the Heat assembled this team there were many doubters that even with this magnitude of talent they could win the NBA Title in their first year; don’t look now, but the Heat have the momentum and star power to do just that. In baseball the players picked up wins on the Milwaukee Brewers -40, San Francisco Giants +22, New York Yankees +15, and Chicago White Sox -20. In turn, the books came back with Pittsburgh Pirates +44, Arizona Diamondbacks +12, Minnesota Twins +70, and Seattle Mariners +45 to have a big night in bases and get even for the week.

Thursday in the pro hoops scene, the house picked up a small win on Oklahoma City Thunder +5 and the players won the total to even things out for the night. In diamond results, the players won with the New York Mets -35, New York Yankees -70, and Chicago White Sox -30. The house responded with San Diego Padres +13, San Francisco Giants +15, Seattle Mariners +40, and Kansas City Royals -10, which helped the house have a good night in bases and get into the black for the week.

Friday in the interleague action the players tabbed the Boston Red Sox -255, Philadelphia Phillies under 7, Washington Nationals +42, and Seattle Mariners +34. The house came back with Cleveland Indians -14, Houston Astros +65, Pittsburgh Pirates +18, Kansas City Royals +27, and San Francisco Giants +10 to once again have a decent night in Major League Baseball.

Saturday’s NBA game was swept by house winning with Dallas Mavericks +2.5 and under 198 to set the players on their heels. In baseball action, the players won with Milwaukee Brewers -55, Saint Louis Cardinals -32, San Francisco Giants -51 and under 6, New York Yankees -200, and Seattle Mariners -30. The house came back a little with Cleveland Indians -15, Pittsburgh Pirates +28, and the Chicago Cubs +50 to have a good day overall because of the hoops.

The players got even on Sunday’s NBA with a sweep winning with Miami Heat -5 and over 180. Bosh played like he did when he use to wear a Raptors jersey after being called out by Boozer in a sense when Boozer stated that the Heat had the Big 2 in James and Wade (valid point). LeBron James had a swagger about him and, all though Bosh was the high scorer (and really dominated in side), King James seemed to be the director in orchestrating a quality win for the Heat.  Baseball action for Sunday saw the players win with Tampa Bay -45, Saint Louis Cardinals -78 Chicago White Sox -28, Seattle Mariners -40, and Boston Red Sox -210. Meanwhile, the house picked up wins on the Houston Astros +35, Baltimore Orioles +05, Los Angeles Angels +25, and San Francisco Giants -14. The players won for the day but it was a decent week overall for the books.

Thanks players! Talk to you next week.

Legends: Weekly Betting Roundup for May 9-15, 2011

May 16th 2011

By B. Sharps / Head Linesman

Hello players!  The NBA playoffs are really heating up now; let’s get to the action starting with Monday the 9th when the players had a good day tabbing Miami and Oklahoma City to sweep the NBA. The decisions were big ones but still two winners for the public and both games going over helped out the parlay players as well. In MLB, the players won with Cincy -35 and Colorado -78 while the house picked up a win on Oakland +08; an overall a good day for the players.

Tuesday’s NBA was a nothing game so the house did well picking up the vig. In baseball, the players picked up wins on Philly – Florida under 6 (two public pitchers under was their safety valve and it worked easily), Cincy again -48, San Francisco -80, and Detroit -17 against the hapless Twins (minor league line up right now). In turn, the house came back with wins on the Mets +55, Toronto +60, and the Angels -24 to have a good night overall for the books.

The Boston – Miami NBA game on Wednesday was split and the players picked up a win – Oklahoma City – to wash out the night basically. Players tabbed MLB games Philly -15, Detroit +12, Tampa Bay -53, and the White Sox +08 while the house came back with Washington +200, Toronto +31, and Kansas City +215 to end up having a winning night with the big dogs coming through.

Thursday the players once again tabbed the Bulls in an easy drubbing of the Hawks. In the short baseball schedule, the players won with Saint Louis -55, San Francisco -23, and Tampa Bay -15. The house won two games but both were big dogs in Kansas City +90 and the Mets +85 to square up the day with the players.

Friday the house won a big game with Memphis -2 coming back in the second half to beat Oklahoma City. In the bases, the players correctly scored with Philadelphia -19, Milwaukee -65, Detroit -200, Boston +15, and of course against the Twins with Toronto -35. The house won with Texas +10 and the White Sox +19 to battle back on the day and, because of the baskets win, it was a peanut for the day.

Saturday in baseball, the players won with Florida -42, Cincy -20, Oakland -25, and Boston +35; meanwhile, the house picked up wins on Arizona +30, Toronto +06 (people actually thought the Twins were going to win one, not a chance), and Baltimore +60 to wash out the day.

Sunday the house split the baskets losing with Oklahoma City but winning the Bulls; impressive performance to have a nice day overall in pro hoops. In the bases, the players tabbed Washington -25, Milwaukee -75, Arizona -25, Toronto -40, Texas -40, and Boston again -40. The house won with San Diego +45 and the White Sox +50 to lose for the day, although it was overall an ok week for the books.

Good luck players! Talk to you next week.

Weekly Betting Roundup for May 2-8, 2011

May 11th 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Well hello players! I’m back from a much-needed hiatus. Let’s get to all the action from the week of May 2-8, including the Kentucky Derby and an improbable sweep. Monday in the NBA, the house picked up small wins on both dogs – Atlanta +9 and Dallas +6 – to get round 2 of the playoffs started out in good fashion. In the bases, the house picked up wins on Washington +2, Pittsburgh +42, and the Yanks +24 while the players came back with Atlanta -46, the Dodgers run line, and Boston -23 to chop up the bases, but still a good night for the books.

Tuesday, pro hoops saw the players and book split as the book needed Miami -5 and the players needed Oklahoma City -6.5; both games going over helped the players slightly so about a wash for the night. On to the diamond results where the players won with Phillies run line, San Diego -65, Boston -60, and Seattle +09. The house countered with Arizona +13, the Cubs +38, and Detroit +60 to pick up some ground in the bases and eke out a win for the night.

Wednesday another spilt in the NBA with the players winning with Chicago -8.5 and the house winning with the Mavericks +7 and Dallas looking like the better team with much better depth. In the bases the players tabbed the Cubs +15 (Zambrano and the Cubs in general still get a lot of public action), Phillies -54, Atlanta in game 2 -42, San Francisco -45, Colorado -48, and Texas +110; the house cut into the players’ night with wins on Florida +180, Minnesota +62, and the Angels +65 to pick up a little hay for the night. The players won more games but the house won some big dogs to squeak out a profit.

Thursday in baseball only saw the players win with the Phillies run line and side (Halladay has been the most bet pitcher in the league last few seasons), Tampa Bay -80 (steamed up from -68 plus the public on them), and Seattle +05 (books cant win a Seattle – Texas game this week). The house came back with Saint Louis +28, Detroit +02, and the Angels +55 to push around the night.

Friday in the NBA playoffs saw another split as the players had Chicago -2.5 and the house won with Dallas -2. In the bases the players picked up wins on Cincy +11, Houston +05, Saint Louis -55, Tampa Bay +08, and Seattle -80 to have their best night of the week but the house cut into their profits a little with Minnesota +52 and the Angels +08 but still a good night for the players finally.

Let me start off Saturday with the Kentucky Derby, as always a great betting race with no superstar really, people were all over the place with different opinions. Most places did ok booking the race, as did we, with Animal Kingdom rolling past a very good horse in Nehro; I’m not sure if we have a Triple Crown winner in Kingdom but he did it like a good horse and he slightly raced so we will see. In the NBA, the players won small with both Memphis -2.5 and Boston -3 but it wasn’t much either way, pretty closely bet games. In MLB, the players won with Tampa Bay +01, Boston -70, Detroit -27 (on a no-no by Jason Verlander) and, in turn, the house picked up wins on Philadelphia +06, Texas +05, and Cleveland +80 to have a good night in bases and do good for the day overall.

Sunday the Lakers came through for the house in NBA by getting swept, usually an ideal situation for the books because it’s human nature to bet a team (especially one of the Lakers’ quality) to win a game and the house picked up a small win on Atlanta +3.5 also to have a nice day in baskets. In bases the players won with the Dodgers -25, Cincy even, Tampa Bay -28, Boston again -200, and the Yankees -65. The house countered with Atlanta +35 and Seattle -29 but still a good day for the players in bases but the house won the day because of baskets.

Good luck players! Talk to you next week.

Weekly Betting Roundup for April 4-10, 2011

April 13th 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello players! Let’s see how things panned out in bases, the NBA, and the NCAA Championship game from last week. We will start with the big game as things went well for the books in a heavily bet mixed action game. We won the first half as Butler covered the +1.5 and the game itself was a wash so the house picked up the vig, and we won the total small to make it a successful final game for the books. Some of people I talked to, though, regarded it as pretty ugly game but in the end the best team won. It has been some tournament roll all season for the Huskies and hats off to the program. In the bases on Monday, the players picked up small wins on the Cubs -60 and the Yanks -74. The house won with Pittsburgh +48 to wash out the day pretty much in baseball, but a good start to the week for the books overall.

Tuesday in the NBA saw the players tab San Antonio -6, New York Knicks -9, and Oklahoma City +4 while the house countered with Washington pick ‘em, Phoenix +10.5, Golden State +10.5, and Utah +14 to have a decent night in the hoops. In MLB, the players won with the Mets +90 (a very popular dog), Cincinnati -63, Milwaukee -25, the Angels -20, and Texas -65. In turn, the house won with Colorado -15, Minnesota +190, and Kansas City +10 to almost get even for the day in bases. In the women’s final game the house picked up a tiny win on Texas A&M +2 to cap off a good college hoop season for the books.

Out of Wednesday’s NBA games, the players correctly tabbed the Knicks +4.5, Orlando -6, New Orleans -3, and San Antonio -10.5 and the house came back with Milwaukee +8.5 and Golden State +6 to even things out for the night. On to baseball where the players picked up wins on Colorado -25, San Francisco -42, Cincinnati run line, the Angels again +05, and Detroit -42. The house found wins on Milwaukee +105 and Cleveland +55, though it still was a winning day for the players.

In Thursday’s abbreviated NBA schedule, the players swept with both chalks – -5 Chicago and Portland – to have a big night in hoops. In the bases the players also won with Colorado -11, Philadelphia run line, New York Yankees -52, and the White Sox -39; the house picked up wins on Washington +90 and Cleveland +70 to save the night in bases but still a good day for the players.

Friday in the NBA the players won with New York Knicks -5, Chicago -8.5, Oklahoma City -4, New Orleans -6, and Portland +3 (the Lakers appear to be on cruise control and the players have noticed this). In the meantime, the house picked up wins on Charlotte +14 and Sacramento +9.5 but still a decent night for the players. In MLB the players picked up wins on San Francisco -72, the Cubs +02, and Detroit -74 as the house countered with Atlanta +11, Arizona +21, Tampa Bay +40, and Cleveland +35 to have a good night in bases for the house.

On to Saturday where the players won NBA games with Houston -8 and Denver -13.5 with the house countering with Washington +2.5 and Utah +10 to even the score for the night. In the bases the players won with Philadelphia +01, Florida -11, Colorado -14 (the players like the small road favorites and it worked to perfection this night), the Dodgers -21 (another road favorite), and Cleveland +11 to have a big night. The house came back with Kansas City +55 and the Angels +05; a good night for the players.

Sunday, to close out the week, the players won in the NBA with Miami -5.5, Memphis -4.5, the Knicks +2.5, and Oklahoma City +5.5 (the Lakers in full blown shut down mode); the house came back with Orlando +6 and Sacramento +6 to cut into the players’ once again successful NBA night. In the MLB, the players tabbed Philadelphia +06 (anytime the public can grab this team as a dog I imagine they will and linesmakers should realize that sooner rather than later), Colorado -34 (Pirates are back to normal), Seattle +21 (big steam game), Texas -11, White Sox again -55, and Weaver -200; the house didn’t win many but they won the big one – Boston +15 – to ease the pain for the day. Overall, and mostly because of Monday night, the books did ok for the week.

Good luck players! I’ll be on vacation so will most likely talk to you in two weeks.

Weekly Betting Roundup for March 28 – April 3, 2011Weekly Betting Roundup for March 28 – April 3, 2011

April 4th 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello players! A mixed week of NBA, the start of bases, and the NCAA Final Four has ended; let us see how it played out. Monday in the NBA the players won with Portland -2 while the house picked up wins on New York +2, Philadelphia +11, and Washington +11 to have a nice opening night in pro hoops. The players won the college game with Oregon -5.5 and over 143 to almost push out for the night.

On Tuesday the players won an NBA game with Houston -7; the house had no real decisions, they picked up a tiny win on Golden State +11. In the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) semis, the players won with Wichita State -3 and lost small with Alabama -2.5 to have another washout night with the books making a little hay for the two days so far.

Wednesday the players won with Philadelphia -3.5, Miami -12.5, Indiana -6.5, Chicago -9.5, Oklahoma City -2.5, and Dallas -5 to have a big NBA night for their pockets. The house picked up wins on Atlanta +3.5, New Jersey +8, and New Orleans +1.5 to slightly cut into the players’ profits for the night in the pros. In the two NCAA games the house won with Santa Clara +9 and the Oregon – Creighton game was no real decision but still an ok night for the players overall.

Thursday’s NBA was a small winning night for the books as both games were pretty even on action so a vig night for the house. In the NIT final, the players picked up a small win on Wichita State -2 as they pounded Alabama to dominate the NIT this year. On to opening day in MLB, which saw the players win with Atlanta -45, New York Yankees -55, and the Angels -55; the house countered with Cincy -20 in a big ninth inning rally and the Dodgers -20 as Kershaw proved he will be a Top 5 Starter in all of baseball this year, he is nasty. So, a small winning day for the house but not much either way.

Friday in the NBA, players correctly tabbed Philadelphia -10, Washington -2, Miami -11, Denver -5.5, and the Lakers -8. The house picked up wins on Detroit +8, Atlanta pick ‘em, and Houston -2 to even things up for the night. In leg 3 of the dumbest college basketball tourney ever, Oregon won by 2 and didn’t cover but it didn’t matter as the players were mixed, the few that cared to wager on it to end the CBI for the season (and hopefully forever). On to the bases where the players picked up wins on Florida -85, San Francisco +12, White Sox pick ‘em, and King Felix +08; in turn, the house came back with the Houston run line, Arizona +190, Texas +110, and Kansas City +35 to make a few bucks for the evening.

On Saturday the players won in NBA with Memphis -13.5. The house had a good night winning with Toronto +14, Golden State +5.5, and the Clippers +5 to gain some more ground for the week. In the Final Four, the house lost small with Butler in a pretty evenly bet game but picked up a nice win on U Conn beating Kentucky to set up an improbable Final Four game Monday night.

Sunday in the NBA, t he players won with San Antonio -11, New York -12, Miami -10.5, Boston -10.5 (and landing 11), and New Orleans -4 while the house came back a little with Toronto +10.5 and Atlanta +6 to cut into the players’ profits a bit. On to Sunday MLB where the players won with Atlanta -42, Minnesota +25, and Oakland -75; the house did good winning with Pittsburgh +63, Detroit +50, Kansas City -11, and the Dodgers -46 to have a good day and week.

Good luck players! Talk to you next week.

Weekly Betting Roundup for March 21-27, 2011

March 28th 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello again players! Let’s see how Sweet 16 week went for the books and if the players maintained their recent dominance. Starting with Monday’s NBA, the players picked up wins on Indiana -3.5, Memphis -8, Chicago -15, and Denver -12.5 while the house got wins on Cleveland +12.5 and Boston -1.5 to once again fall behind in pro hoops. On the college board the players won with Alabama -6.5 (landing on 7 to side books), Washington State -6.5, UCF -5.5, and Creighton -7 coming back with a big second half. The books picked up wins on Evansville +9.5 and SMU +7.5 but the players started out the week once again on top.

Tuesday in the pros the players tabbed Chicago -4 and Portland -16 and the books won the Lakers game to even out the NBA for the night. In NCAA basketball the players got wins with East Tennessee State -5 and Iona -10; the house countered with Kent +11 and San Francisco -1.5 to pick up peanuts for the day.

Wednesday in the NBA, the players won with New Jersey -2.5, Oklahoma City -12 (landing 12), Orlando -1, and Phoenix -7.5. In turn, the books came back with Atlanta +7, Detroit +8.5, and San Antonio +5.5 to make a little for the night and get close to even for the week. The players won with Alabama -5.5 and Northwestern +4 while the books won with Charleston +8 to hold serve for the night in college hoops.

On to Thursday, where NBA was an afterthought for the players with no real money exchanging hands and then on to the colleges where the players picked up a huge win the Gators in OT, a very one-sided betting game at some shops. The players also won with U Conn +2 (how were they a dog) and the house won with Arizona +9.5. The Butler game was a wash; the house won the side and the players the money line. With the Florida game the players had a good night and retook the lead for the week.

Friday the players picked up NBA wins on Miami -8 and Golden State -8; the house with their best NBA night in recent memory won with Sacramento +6.5, Milwaukee +6.5, Minnesota +16, Memphis +9, San Antonio +4, and New Orleans +6.5 to move ahead for the week. In NCAA the players tabbed North Carolina -4, Kansas -10.5 while the books came back with Kentucky +5.5 and VCU +4 to have a good night overall for the books.

Saturday the players won with Atlanta -10, Chicago -5, and Dallas -6.5 in the NBA, where the house picked up a win on Charlotte +4.5 to lose some ground for the week. On the college board the house won with Butler +4 and the U Conn – Arizona game was juice win in an evenly bet contest,. The players picked up a small win on Iona -2 but still a good day for the books.

Sunday in the NBA the players tabbed Atlanta -5, Oklahoma City -4.5, the Lakers -9, and Dallas -3. In the meantime, the books won with Memphis -1.5, Minnesota +8, and Washington +13 to cut into the players’ winning day in pro basketball. In the NCAA Tourney, the books won with VCU +11 and the players won small with Kentucky -1.5 but overall a good week for the books.

Thanks players! Talk to you next week.

Weekly Betting Roundup for March 14-20, 2011

March 23rd 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello players! One of busiest weeks in sports has ended; let’s see who did what. On Monday in the NBA the players tabbed Oklahoma City -8.5, Miami -5 (once again showing when they want to turn it up, they can at any time), Denver +2.5, and Memphis -5.5; the house picked up wins on New Jersey +5 and Utah +3.5 but once again the players started out hot in the NBA. The college board only had Buffalo and Quinnipiac and, as you could have guessed, not much of a win or loss in that one.

In Tuesday’s pro hoops the players won with Atlanta -5 and Chicago -15 while the house won with Indiana +5 so a push of an evening. In the colleges, the players picked up wins on Clemson -5, Oklahoma State -5, Boston College -5, and New Mexico -6 plus the North Carolina – Ashville and Arkansas – Little Rock fell on 4 to aid the players with a small middling of the books. The house countered with wins on Vermont +10.5, Fairfield +6, and Kent +11.5 to cut into the players’ small win for the night.

On to Wednesday, where the players tabbed NBA winners with New Orleans (landing 5), Utah -5.5, and Philadelphia +1 and the house, in turn, came back with Oklahoma City +5.5 (Miami also showing that they can lay down when they don’t feel like playing) to cut their losses for the night. In NCAA hoops the players won with Wichita State -5, Central Florida -7.5, and Duquesne -2.5; the house countered with Virginia Commonwealth +4, Mississippi +4.5, and Iona +1 to pick up a little ground on the players for the week.

Thursday, in the NBA, the players swept the three games with Chicago -6.5, New York Knicks -4.5, and Portland -14 to set the stage for the tournament and give the players full pockets to take their shot. In the Opening Round, the players picked up wins on West Virginia -2, Cincinnati pick ‘em, BYU landing 8 (game opened 9 dipped to 7.5 and back up to 8 – 8.5) so a dead middle for the books, Kansas State -2, and Wiscy -4.5. The house picked up wins on UCLA +1, Butler +1.5, and Richmond +3 to ease the pain a little, though it was still a winner for the players on day one.

Pro hoops on Friday saw the players win with Toronto -8.5, Miami -6, Oklahoma City -11, San Antonio +2, and Philly -4.5. Meanwhile, the books countered with Indiana +4.5, Detroit +3.5, and Houston +2 to wash out the evening in the pros. In the day two of the Opening Round the players correctly tabbed Michigan +1, Marquette pick ‘em, Illinois +2 and in the NIT Colorado -6 and the over of 156 was very popular with the players. The books picked up wins on LIU +18, George Mason +2, Memphis +6, and BU +23 to make a little hay for the day and cut into the players’ lead for the week.

Saturday in the NBA the players won with Boston -1.5 and Portland -7 and the house came back with Denver +8 and Charlotte +12 to win a few bucks heading into the college board. In NCAA, the players picked up big wins on Kentucky -3.5, Florida -5 (sharps were on UCLA late but not enough), Butler +8 plus the money line (people fall in love with this team quick and throw a few bucks on the money line as an afterthought, but it added up to a big win for the players), U Conn -4, San Diego State -5.5 in a miracle cover in OT, and Wiscy -3 to almost sweep the tourney games. The books managed to win BYU -1, their only saving grace. These results of course can be different from book to book; I just want you to understand that we have a big mix of players so what happened here may not be what happened elsewhere. If I had to guess I would say most books did better than I did on these days but you can’t force your core guys on a side, only a few sharps you can force a bet from and even they don’t always bite so you will live and die with your bread and butter guys on days like this.

Sunday’s NBA saw the players pick up wins on Washington +2 (that game I would guess was won by most books but sometimes that happens), Atlanta -7, Phoenix pick ‘em, and Dallas -8 yet the house won with Milwaukee +2, Sacramento +4.5, Utah +8, and Toronto +14.5 to actually carve out a winning day in pro basketball. On to the NCAA Tourney results where the players tabbed OSU -11, Florida State money line and Arizona money line were very popular; we won the spread on those games with FSU +4.5 and Arizona +5 but more than gave it back on money line action on the two dogs, I can’t blame the players if you like a dog, why not money line. The North Carolina game was a small side for the books as the players were mixed on the game at 4 and then the +4 got swallowed up by the movers and that left the -3 available on the buy, nothing serious but a small side for the players to win the game. The house won with Michigan +12.5 and Wichita State +5.5 in the NIT to cut into a nice day and week for the players.

Good luck players! Talk to you next week.

Weekly Betting Roundup for March 7-13, 2011

March 15th 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello once again players, let’s see how things went for this past week. On Monday the players picked up NBA wins on the Knicks -6, Memphis -3, and Houston -4.5 while the house countered with New Orleans +9.5 and Minnesota +6.5 to hold serve for the night in the pros. In the colleges the players won a small decision with ODU -4; the other games weren’t anything of significance so a washy Monday was ended with no ground won or lost by either side.

Tuesday in the NBA, the players picked up wins on Milwaukee -1.5 (just bet against Washington seems to be profitable), the hot Sixers at pick ‘em, and the Lakers -4.5. The house had small wins on Portland +9 and, per usual, it was a winning NBA night for the players. On to the college board where the players picked up wins on Princeton -3 and Dayton -1.5; meanwhile the house picked up good wins on Rutgers +4, South Florida +9, and Saint Joseph’s +7.5 to win back the NBA money plus to pull slightly ahead for the week.

Wednesday in the NBA the players won with Chicago -8, Utah +2 (sharps were on Toronto but public was big on Utah), the Knicks +4 and moneyline (weird betting early on this one line was 4 and I was using Moneyline -160 about right for a 3 – 3.5 game and the players kept playing the plus moneyline on Knicks and they were right). The house picked up wins on New Jersey +1.5, New Orleans +4.5, Detroit +11, and Sacramento +10 to overcome the Knicks debacle and squeak out a small profit for the night. In the conference tourneys for the NCAA, the players picked up wins on Nevada -2, TCU -2, and Oregon -2 (and sharps played Oregon -1 first half also). The house came back with a sweep of the Big 12 winning all four games; not big decisions but still a sweep with Oklahoma State +4, Iowa State +5.5, Oklahoma +6.5, and Texas Tech +10 to end with a decent day overall for the house.

In the NBA on Thursday, all three games were pretty evenly bet so they did ok with no numbers falling. The Heat – Lakers game had a mix of sharps on the Heat and public on the Lakers; this time the sharps won one. In the colleges the players picked up wins on Syracuse -3 (heavily bet by sharps and public), Notre Dame -2 (ridiculously low line created all one way action here but you live and die with these at times and today was a die for the house), Maryland -6, Georgia -11, and Penn State -5; in turn, the house came back with Connecticut +5, Miami Florida -3 (miracle win sharps had Virginia big), and another good night in the Big 12 with Colorado +7.5 and Texas -14 (sharps had Oklahoma +14). At the end of the day, the house made a little hay but needed every game on the board to do so volume was a big friend this night.

Friday in the NBA saw the players tab Philly +1, Chicago -7.5, and wise guy game Minnesota -2. The house countered with Charlotte +4.5, Sacramento +12, and Golden State +5.5 to even the score in the NBA. On the college board, the players correctly tabbed Michigan State +7, Clemson -4.5, Kentucky -8.5, Florida -4, Texas -6.5, Arizona +1, and San Diego State -1.5. The house came back with Penn State +7.5, Miami Florida +10, U Conn +3.5, and San Jose State +15.5 to cut into the players’ small wining day a bit.

Saturday the players picked up NBA wins on Miami -8, the Clippers -2, Chicago -10.5, and the Lakers -1; the books countered with a small win on San Antonio -1 but not much else as the players regained their NBA domination. On to the colleges where the players won with Kentucky -6, Florida -3, North Carolina -5 (landing on the number to side the books), Duke -8, Kansas -4.5, and San Diego State -3 while the house countered with Memphis +5, Richmond +4, Penn State +3.5, and U Conn again +3 to have an ok college night because of the volume (bookie’s best friend).

On the short schedule Sunday, the players picked up NBA wins on Oklahoma City -9.5, Orlando -6, and Minnesota -7. The house came back with wins on Indiana +9.5 and Boston -8.5 to wash out the NBA board. Finally, on to small but heavily bet college board where the players won three of four games with no real decision on the Kentucky / Florida game, so a good day to end the week for the players but still a good week overall for the books.

Now on to the big dance! Good luck players, talk to you next week!

Hello players! Let’s see how things went this week; the calm before the storm week was very active in itself so let’s get to the scores. Monday in the NBA, the players won with Chicago -7.5 and Boston -4.5 (landing 5 also sided the house on the Utah buyback). The house picked up small wins on New Jersey +2.5 and Sacramento pick ‘em to cut into the players’ night. In the college board, the players tabbed Notre Dame -5 and Idaho State +7 (syndicate game) while the house did ok on Kansas State +8.5, though it was still a good night for the players.

Tuesday saw the players correctly tab Dallas -1.5, Indiana -5.5, the Lakers -9, Memphis (all big mover groups on Memphis) -1.5; the house came back with Toronto +5.5 and Houston +5 to cut into another winning NBA night for the players. In NCAA, the players picked up wins on Florida -6, Virginia -1.5, Nebraska -2 (very popular game with sharps and public), OSU -6.,5 and San Diego State -12. The house countered with Illinois +9.5 and Vandy +9, but still a winner for the bettors.

Wednesday in the NBA saw the players jump out with Golden State pick ‘em, San Antonio -9, the Knicks -2.5, Oklahoma City -8.5, and Denver -7. The books came back with Atlanta +4.5 and Boston -7 (Phoenix was a popular dog with the sharp guys) to even things out for the night in the NBA. In the colleges the players tabbed Louisville -13, Iowa State -1, Pittsburgh -11, New Mexico +11, and adding North Carolina landing on 2 and Kansas on 13 to side the books on two high volume games. The books came back with West Virginia -5, Cincy +5, Clemson +12, and New Mexico State +7 to wash out the entire day factoring in all the small wins the books picked up on the “nothing” games.

Thursday saw the players tab Orlando +5 (another Heat meltdown); the Utah / Denver game was a wash so on to the NCAA’s. In the colleges the players picked up wins on Tennessee -4, Seton Hall +3 (public was on St. John’s but all big syndicates were on the Hall), Fresno State +4.5 (also sharp side), and UCLA +8 (very popular dog, line looked high to me also and I’m as public as it gets). The house came back with wins on Oregon State +14 and Southern Illinois +1 but still a good night for the players.

Friday the players picked up NBA wins on Chicago +2 (first half and game Bulls are very popular team right now and with good reason), Philadelphia -9.5, Phoenix -3, and San Antonio -2.5 while the house battled back with Golden State +9.5, Cleveland +12.5, and Indiana +9 to make back the players’ wins plus picked up some ground on the other NBA games to have a winning night in pro basketball. On to the college board where the players won with Kent State -3, Princeton -12.5, Cleveland State -3; in turn, the house countered with Delaware +3.5, William & Mary +8, and Manhattan +8 to hold their lead for the day.

Saturday in the NBA, the players tabbed Houston -7 and the Clippers -2; the house countered with Toronto +1 in a wild OT game and with Sacramento +8 to even out the NBA for the night. In the big college board, the players picked up wins on Louisville +3.5, Kansas -3.5 (very damaging game for the house, high volume and landed on 4 so mostly all wins or pushes for any bettors), Illinois -10, Michigan -1, Notre Dame +3, BYU -21, UNLV -7.5, Pittsburgh -9.5 (also landing 10 to add to the win), Seton Hall -1 (syndicate game), Florida +4, North Carolina -1 (heavily liked by public and sharps, how do they know?), St. John’s -12, and UCLA -2.5 in a huge comeback to put the dagger to the books.  In the conference action, the players also tabbed Butler -4. The house countered with Iowa State +14, Cincy -4, Virginia +12, Oregon +12, USC +10, and Colorado -4 but it wasn’t enough to overcome the players’ big day.

Sunday saw the players bust out of the box with Chicago +5 (another Heat blow up), Philadelphia -7 in OT, the Knicks +3.5 (one-sided action all day, maybe it was just our store, I had 3.5 all day and all other shops had 4, they should’ve been buried on Knicks money +4 but who knows ….oh well), and New Orleans -5. The house came back with Phoenix +6.5 and Milwaukee +7; the Lakers game was an even chart so a small win for the house on that contest but still another winner for the players in the NBA. On to the colleges, where we saw the players correctly choose Kentucky -1.5, OSU -8, FSU -1, Old Dominion landed 8, and Saint Mary’s landed 9 to also count as good wins for the players. The house came back with Penn State +5, VCU +5, and Furman +7 but still a good week for the players heading into March.

Good luck players! Talk to you again next week.

Weekly Betting Roundup for February 21-27, 2011

March 1st 2011

B. Sharps / Head Linesman / Legends

Hello once again players! Let’s take a look at the last week of February and see how things shook out. Monday of course is just the college board, and the players won with Kansas -17 while the house picked up a little on Wisconsin Green Bay +2; the main game – Villanova vs. Syracuse – was close in action with no big swing. On the added board, the sharps did some damage winning with UTC +4 and Western Carolina landed on the number to make it a nothing day either way for the books.

Tuesday in the NBA, the players picked up where they left off winning with Indiana -2, Houston -1.5, Miami -13, Oklahoma City -8.5, the Lakers -8, and Boston -4.5 to bash the house pretty good to open the second half of the season. The house picked up small wins on Minnesota +7.5 and Denver -1.5 but nowhere near enough to overcome the chalk fest that occurred. In the colleges the players won with Xavier -13.5, Louisville -4, and TCU +7; the house countered with South Carolina +2, Tennessee +5.5, and Michigan State +2.5 to make a little back from the NBA debacle, but still a big night for the players.

Wednesday in the NBA, the players made progress with Philly -9.5, Memphis -3, Phoenix -4, and the Lakers -2.5 (in OT). The house came back with Toronto +8.5, Cleveland +6, Sacramento +14 (outright winner surprisingly), and Oklahoma City +7 to pick up some much needed ground although a small gain for the house only but they will take it after Tuesday night. On to the college board to see how things panned out: the players correctly tabbed Akron -8, Colorado pick ‘em, Colorado State +13, Cincinnati +7, North Carolina -6, and the last two games on the board landing on the number with Wyoming winning by 2 and San Jose State winning by 2 (not as bad small volume game). The books countered with Michigan +4, St. John’s -13.5 (public liked the dog DePaul), Providence +4, and UNLV +2.5 to wash out the colleges for the night.

Thursday saw the books sweep the NBA, getting both dogs home with Chicago +3 and Denver +4.5, breathing life back into their week. In NCAA the players grabbed wins on Florida -6, Old Dominion -2, Louisiana-Lafayette -2.5 (heavily bet syndicate game), and Boise State +1 (another syndicate side). The house came back with Penn State +4, Cal State Northridge +4, Gonzaga +4, and San Diego +7.5 to give away some of their NBA profits for the night but still an ok night for the books.

Friday saw the players rebound quickly and pick up NBA wins on Philadelphia -11, Charlotte -5.5, Phoenix -3.5, New Orleans -5, and the Lakers -10.5 while the house battled back with Utah +6, Washington +15, Cleveland +9, and New Jersey +11 to pick up a small win for the night. On the small college board the players won small with Princeton -9.5 and Fairfield -8.5; in turn, the house picked up equally small wins on Dartmouth +12 and Detroit +6.5 to even out the small board for the night.

On the NBA’s big Saturday board, the players won with Memphis -11, Chicago -4, and Houston -8 as the books countered with Detroit +4, Washington +10, and the Clippers +8 to even things out heading into NCAA action. There, players picked up college wins on Syracuse pick ‘em, Kansas State -4 (heavily bet syndicate game as was UCLA -2), Florida State landing -6 (big action  game, so good for the players mostly), Akron -3.5, South Florida -1, St. John’s +6.5 (they keep beating the books and we keep putting up lines that attract money on them, a very good team), Miss State +11 (syndicate game also), Georgia -9.5, Notre Dame -9.5 (big second half rally to beat the books in this one), New Mexico -8, and two more huge syndicate games with North Texas -2 .5 (they won by 22) and Bradley -2.5 (they won by 26). Sometimes I guess it is just too easy for the wise guys and Boise at a pick. The house came back a little with Texas Tech +8.5, BYU +4.5, Colorado +6, Air Force +4, Virginia Tech +4.5, and Wyoming +18 but it still could not overcome the one-way highway of money on Kansas State, UCLA, North Texas, and Bradley from some serious guys.

Sunday the players jumped out ahead with Phoenix +2.5 and the Lakers -1.5 early to keep the books in the hole for the week. The players also tabbed Dallas -9 and Orlando -11; the books then came back with Cleveland +7.5, Memphis +9, and the Knicks +9.5 to soften the blow a little. In the colleges the players rang up wins on West Virginia -3.5, U Conn +3.5, Marquette -11, Wisconsin -11, and North Carolina -6.5. The books came back with Louisville -2 and Washington State +12 but still a good week for the players.

Good luck players! Talk to you again next week.
